Opioid Settlement Fund Survey

County of Sussex, New Jersey

The County of Sussex and the Opioid Settlement Fund Committee are inviting community members to help us prioritize future use of our Opioid Settlement Funds by completing this survey.

Background:

In March 2022, the State of New Jersey reached agreement on a national lawsuit against four companies for their role in the opioid crisis.  These lawsuits hold prescription opioid manufacturers, distributors, and retailers accountable for their role in creating and fueling the opioid epidemic.  Half of the funding for the State was given to the State of NJ and half of the funding received from the settlement will be provided directly to local and municipal government agencies.  The funds are to be used for programs that focus on treatment, prevention and other strategies to combat the opioid epidemic.  They will also be spent on strategies to reduce the opioid epidemic’s ongoing harms to residents and communities.  These funds must be used for opioid prevention, treatment, and recovery strategies that are listed in the settlement agreements including but not limited to

Treatment of opioid use disorder, recovery supports, prevention, harm reduction, education and awareness.  For a complete list of approved uses for Opioid Settlement Funds click here. (Leads to Exhibit E).

Please indicate whether you are completing this survey as... (Check all that apply or enter your own title in the last checkbox selection):
